How does the Automatic SKU Generation works in the App?
The SKU is the core identifier for synchronizing inventory and orders. Problems can occur when merchants do not provide an SKU for a product, leading to synchronization issues.To address this problem, assigning a unique SKU to each product variant is crucial.The great news is that our application includes an automated SKU generation feature, ensuring that the necessary SKUs are created and linked within the application.
How does it work on the Shopify side?
- If a product in Shopify does not have an SKU, as shown below:
- Our app will generates the SKUs for this products as shown in the screenshot below:
Important Notes:
✅ At this moment. these SKUs are generated inside our application only.
❌ They will not be added directly to Shopify store products.
✅ If you upload this Shopify product to eBay, the SKU will sync to your eBay products as well as shown in the screenshot below:
How does it work on the eBay side?
- If a product lacks an SKU while syncing to our app, our app will generates the SKUs for this products as shown in the screenshot below: ****
Important Notes:
✅ At this moment. these SKUs are generated inside our application only.
❌ They will not be added directly to eBay store products.
✅ If you import this product to Shopify, an SKU will be created for it in Shopify products.
✅ Since Shopify is the primary source, any updates made in Shopify will automatically sync to eBay. Therefore, the SKU will also sync back to eBay and be available in your eBay store products.
How to Disable Auto SKU Generation?
- Open the settings page of our application, navigate to " General Settings," and disable the " Automatic SKU Generation" option.
- Click Save Changes.
- From now on, SKUs will not be automatically generated for newly added products.
