The AI-based eBay Category Mapping Suggestion helps automatically select the most relevant eBay marketplace category for your products during the upload process. The system analyzes your Shopify product data and suggests an eBay category to reduce manual work and improve listing accuracy.



How does the AI Category Suggestion Work?


The AI generates category suggestions based on two key data sources:


  1. Product Title
  2. Product Description


These fields are taken directly from your Shopify product and analyzed to determine the most suitable eBay marketplace category.


Behavior for Single vs Bulk Uploads


✅ Single Product Upload
  • The AI analyzes the selected product title and description.
  • A category suggestion is generated specifically for that product.


✅ Bulk Product Upload
  • The system analyzes only the first 5 products in the selected list.
  • A common category suggestion is generated based on those products data.
  • This helps keep bulk uploads consistent and efficient.


⚠️ Important Note: If the first 5 products belong to very different categories, the suggestion may be less accurate. In such cases, manual review is recommended.



Step-by-Step: Using AI Category Suggestion


Step 1: Prepare Your Products in Shopify:


  • Ensure products have clear and descriptive titles and meaningful descriptions.
  • Better data = more accurate category suggestions


Step 2: Select Products for Upload:


  • Go to the Shopify Products section in the app.
  • Select a single product or multiple products for bulk upload.
  • Click on " Upload Products to eBay " button.



Step 3: Review the AI-Suggested eBay Category:


  • You will see an AI-Suggested eBay Category displayed.

  • If you hover in the Suggested eBay Category it will show you the whole eBay Category details:


Important Note: You can accept the suggested eBay category or choose it manually if needed.


  • Click on the suggestion to select the matched eBay category.


Step 4: Complete the Upload:


  • Once confirmed, continue with the upload.
  • The product(s) will be listed under the selected category.


Best Practices for Accurate Suggestions:


✅Use clear product titles.

✅Add detailed descriptions (materials, usage, product type).

✅Avoid mixing unrelated product types in a single bulk upload.

✅Always review the suggested category before final submission.

Q: Is the category selection fully automatic?

No. The AI suggests a category, but final confirmation is always manual to ensure accuracy.


Q: Why is the suggestion incorrect sometimes?

This usually happens when:

  • Product titles doesnot reflect actual product.
  • Product descriptions are too short or generic
  • Bulk uploads include mixed product types


Q: Can I override the AI suggestion?

Yes. You can manually select a different category at any time before upload.
